LeBron is on a 16 to 18 minute limit for now and how he gets there is flexible.
“It was going to be first half minutes, right? ... So a nine minute stint is seven, you know, what would be a normal one or six and a half or something. ... And to get to that number, 16, 18 minutes, it doesn't really matter how you do it right now.”
With Adem Bona out Wade and LeBron James join Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow as small-ball five candidates.
“Dean would be another candidate, I guess, if you call him a small five. He's pretty good sized. I think LeBron is another candidate. I think he's played some small ball five as well... So I think that probably, you know, probably go with that crew unless something else emerges.”
Team is emphasizing pushing pace and throwing ahead in the first three quarters.
“We got a lot of guys who have speed and can beat guys off the bounce, create an advantage. We got to continue to encourage to just throw it ahead... during the first three quarters, we should be up and down.”
LeBron has no defined role yet as coaches wait to see how the group fits.
“No, we haven't given our roles yet. I think Coach Nurtz and Coach Sass said they would do that at some point as they continue to see how we all fit together on the floor.”
Embiid's role is unchanged and he can operate from anywhere on the floor.
“Not changing. I mean, I can do everything on the basketball court, whether I'm at the top of the key, middle, left side, right side, three-point line. So nothing changes.”
