What coaches and players say about roles, minutes, gameplans and development.
Utah is holding back Peterson's workload and adding responsibilities in layers so he isn't overloaded.
“We have to show restraint as it relates to Darryn's development and really try to layer the things in properly so that we're not giving him too much at once.”
Utah does not want Peterson locked into on-ball duty and wants a mix of on and off ball.
“I don't want to become obsessed with Darryn on the ball because it's this new thing that we're all discussing. He's pretty good off the ball too... the dream scenario is that Darryn has a great mix of on and off ball”
Peterson still adjusting to NBA length on closeouts.
“He still adjusting to the length as it relates to closeouts I think we saw a few tonight where he shot faked some threes that maybe he could have gotten off”
Jackson and Hayes playing together is a good sign and their size gives Utah a defensive anchor.
“I think it's a good sign seeing those guys play together. Obviously, we're still working through a bunch of different lineups, and their size, I think, gives us a little bit of an anchor defensively.”
Peterson and George are meant to mix up who brings the ball when they share the floor.
“I think it good for both he and Key when they on the floor together to mix up who brings it and who doesn”
