What coaches and players say about roles, minutes, gameplans and development.
Duren's next step is playing through the elbows as a passer with shooters around him.
โThat's where the next step is for him. โฆ Understanding how good of a passer he is, then what it looks like when you put the ball in his hands at the elbows, and now you've got shooting all around.โ
Okorie is intelligent and poised and can run the show with tough defense.
โHe's highly intelligent. He understands the game. He can run a show, having the ball in his hands. He can put people in the right spots. He's tough and gritty defensively. And emotionally, he always stays poised. You don't see him doing the up and down. So I think that's going to help him in his rookie year.โ
Okorie always believed his opportunity would come.
โI knew my time was going to come.โ
Ausar Thompson getting expanded ball-handling reps as the Pistons work to grow his role as a creator.
โWe obviously want Ausar to have the ball in his hands. We believe like if he takes a jump, our team is going to take a jump. In order to do that, he's got to get that exposure.โ
Okorie impressed with his patience and poise and with an unusual finishing ability for his age.
โHe's patient, and he doesn't get sped up... He just was so poised... at that age to have the ability to finish the way that he can finish is unique.โ
