Bickerstaff wants better ball movement and connectivity as Detroit implements a new offense.
“I think offensively to start the game, we could be better. I think the way that we connect the ball from one another could have been better and make it easier for everyone else on the floor. I thought we made it a little more difficult for ourselves than we needed to. But again, that's to be expected when you're implementing something new.”
Teams have to change how they guard Thompson with the ball and without it.
“People are going to have to make an adjustment on how they defend him... his ability to make that shot changes the way teams have to guard him when he has the ball in his hand and even when he doesn't.”
Collins enjoys the cutting and freedom in the way Detroit plays.
“I enjoyed the aspects, the cuts, the freedom, movement, the ability to push, or just attack, just matches the switches, just play real basketball. And I just think that's something that I enjoy doing. I enjoy playing that way as well.”
The message to the Pistons was to wake up defensively and play their style.
“Come the hell on. I think his message was wake up defensively, we know who we are and let's play Pistons basketball.”
