Dillon Brooks expecting more catch-and-shoot looks as Suns stress paint touches and kick-outs.
“I probably get way more now since Miles was on the team with a lot of drives to the rim. A lot of our players are getting paint touches, we're stressing to get to the paint and dish out for an open shot. So I'll probably see more of those.”
“We talk a lot about possession game. Those guys, they just kind of feed off each other. Goodie loves to start it. It felt like the very first possession he was in, he air balled a shot, he gets the rebound, he scores, it's kind of just who he is and the way he brings to the team.”
The second unit upped the pressure and got turnovers and easy baskets.
“I think the recipe was, you know, what the second unit came in and did when they, you know, upped the pressure and, you know, were turning them over and getting, you know, easy ones. And, you know, we struggled to do that with the first group.”
The Suns defense will scramble and cover for each other because it plays so far up the floor.
“You can overcome mistakes as long as you're aggressive and connected and know what we want to take away. ... We're going to scramble and move around. It's not always going to be the exact rotation, but we're going to have to cover up spots and do it for each other because we played so far up the floor.”
Phoenix will run some 1-5 switching lineups with Maluach guarding quick guards.
“So we'll go to some 15 switching lineups because he can guard him. He's unique. He has incredible intelligence and feel for that young. Most bigs aren't going to take the challenge of some of those small quick guards, they'll do it.”
