Dillon Brooks expecting more catch-and-shoot looks as Suns stress paint touches and kick-outs.
“I probably get way more now since Miles was on the team with a lot of drives to the rim. A lot of our players are getting paint touches, we're stressing to get to the paint and dish out for an open shot. So I'll probably see more of those.”
Suns emphasize everyone running in transition.
“We have multiple guys that can bring it, which is nice. Also, Miles, even on that first unit, just a little bit different where they can rebound and run and it gets everyone running. But we have to learn everyone has to run. So that's been a big point that we've tried to emphasize this first week.”
Phoenix wants to run after stops with Green and Bridges both finishing in transition.
“Just finding mismatches and you know we got a lot of high-flyers on the team, especially JG, so you know give the ball to him in transition, let him score, or I can score in transition, either way, but our main thing is just getting stops and getting out and going.”
Bridges is being asked to score on the glass.
“His very first basket, I believe, was on the glass. We're asking him to do that.”
Green to be used as ball handler.
“That's super helpful, not only as a ball handler, but again, playing through our bigs maybe a little bit more. And then using him as a cutter, just his aggressiveness to downhill, another guy we want to get in the paint.”
