Mitchell explains Meleek Thomas' 16-point debut.

“for him to be the spark in his first game of the year, like, it's not normal... he made some mistakes, but they were aggressive mistakes... The best part of his game wasn't even the 16 points. It was just the energy.”

Meleek Thomas stood out for his defensive attention to detail and his shot making.

“His attention to detail defensively, I think was the biggest thing. Offensively, he makes shots. Like, he's a killer.”

Thomas had no advance word on playing and stayed ready to go on the fly.

“No advanced knowledge, just going on the fly, staying ready... just knowing as much knowledge as I could know before potentially getting in and just working in my favor.”
