Jokić passed up six or seven layups in the preseason to build a pass-first atmosphere.
“I think there were six or seven times he could have just laid the ball in. But if you want to create an atmosphere where people pass the ball as the open man, you have to do it in these moments in the preseason.”
“He is our thrust on our team. You know, Aaron, Jamal, those guys, they can run up and down, but not like that with the impact of kind of playing downhill.”
The starters are still learning to tag up while the second unit already creates extra chances.
“Our starters are not used to the tagging up concept. The second unit was pretty good at it... They got us a lot of extra opportunities, which we have not done over the years, especially last year.”
