Coaches and Lillard are urging Morant to stay aggressive and look for his own scoring in Portland.
“talking with the coaches last night today and then with Dame yesterday, they were telling me to stay aggressive. Obviously when I'm playing like me, it opens up a lot more on the floor for everybody else.”
Morant feels he doesn't have to be as ball dominant with teammates who can create.
“I don't have to be so much ball dominant. All those guys can create for them and the teammates.”
Morant got a lot of catch and shoot threes today which was rare for him.
“I was able to get a lot of catch and shoot threes today, which was rare kind of for me... I'm able to just use my speed, create. I get back cuts.”
Avdija carries less of the ball-handling load and gets more catches on the run and transition chances.
“I can catch more off the run, run more in transition. I'm not going to get fatigued as much maybe to bring up the ball up the court.”
