Avdija's downhill finishing is a big plus and Morant wants to get him more open space.
“With Deni, you know, his ability to be able to, you know, get down the floor, get downhill and, you know, finish through contact or without contact is an extreme plus for us. And the more we can get him in, you know, open space and let him see those gaps, it'd be great for us.”
Lillard expects Morant and Avdija to start alongside him as far as he knows.
“Ja will start, I'll start, Deni will, I mean, that's as far as I know.”
Lillard Morant and Avdija shared the floor for much of day one's live action. Lillard says they still have to work out how to fit together.
“a lot of live action, me, Ja, and Deni played together. So just, you know, there's no way around us having to figure that time out.”
Avdija carries less of the ball-handling load and gets more catches on the run and transition chances.
“I can catch more off the run, run more in transition. I'm not going to get fatigued as much maybe to bring up the ball up the court.”
Avdija is being asked to keep being confident and aggressive.
“So he wants me to keep being confident and keep being aggressive.”
